To the start our film, we are starting with the ending. This will be the female in the bath in red water. for the bath scene we wanted make sure we got the right bath to create the right sense of the scene.

BBFC classification covering films aimed at teenagers  The 15 certificate was introduced by the British Board of Film Censors on 1 November 1982, following an overhaul of its classifications as recommended by the Williams Committee. It is currently defined as follows: Passed only for persons of fifteen years and over. No person apparently under the age of 15 years shall be admitted to any exhibition at which there is to be shown any film which has received a ’15′ certificate from the British Board of Film Classification. It was a direct replacement for the AA certificate, the only difference being that the age limit was raised from fourteen to fifteen. In 1985, following the recommendations of the 1984 Video Recordings Act, the 15 certificate was extended to cover video releases. While the increased age limit allowed the BBFC to be more lenient with regard to classifying certain films, it became clear towards the end of the 1980s that an additional classification was needed between 15 and PG, as Hollywood in particular was producing an increasing number of films aimed specifically at young teenagers. Since these films were considered too strong for a PG, they were usually given a 15 certificate, thus preventing their natural audience from seeing them. As a result of increasingly public debate over this issue, the BBFC introduced the 12 certificate in 1989. The BBFC permits the following within the bounds of the 15 certificate: Theme: No theme is prohibited, provided the treatment is appropriate to 15 year olds. Language: There may be frequent use of strong language; the strongest terms are only rarely acceptable. Continued aggressive use of strong language and sexual abuse is unacceptable. Nudity: There are no constraints on nudity in a non-sexual or educational context. Sex: Sexual activity and nudity may be portrayed but without strong detail. The depiction of casual sex should be handled responsibly. There may be occasional strong verbal references to sexual behaviour. Violence: Violence may be strong but may not dwell on the infliction of pain, and of injuries. Scenes of sexual violence must be discreet and brief. Imitable techniques: Dangerous combat techniques such as ear claps, head-butts and blows to the neck are unlikely to be acceptable. There may be no emphasis on the use of easily accessible lethal weapons (in particular, knives). Horror: Sustained or detailed infliction of pain or injury is unacceptable. Drugs: Drug taking may be shown but clear instructive detail is unacceptable. The film as a whole must not promote or encourage drug use.

to appeal to our target audience we have decided to make our film a 15

this is because….

• we can appeal to our audience as it will make our film seem more grown up to post 15 audiences that will feel like they want to view more adult content now that they are over the certification.
• our target audience are within this certificate, so will not effect our main block of revenue
• we can be free to use moderate cursing, sex scenes without detail, nudity without detail, use light violence, some elements of horror, drug use but not to encourage or misuse, use discrimination however not to endorse it. this will allow us to produce an adult film, with adult elements therefore it will be relevent and interest over 15 audiences

The two main characters go rowing on a nearby lake in the morning and reminisce about their summer together. He shows her a part of the creek where dozens of swans have gathered, explaining that they will eventually leave when the summer ends. As a rain storm starts Noah rows to shore, where Allie (the main female character), after getting a good look at him in the rain, demands to know why Noah never wrote to her. After Noah tells her he wrote to her every day for one year (here he emphasises this by saying 365), he says their romance was never over and that it still isn’t over, and they share a passionate kiss, before making love.

This kissing scene is very passionate and ‘in the moment’. In this the mood is suddenly uplifted to high intensity and is very sexy. As this is a very well none romantic film you know that thousands of people sit at home and there hearts are goign pitter patter as they watch this.

Again there is shot reverse shot so the audience is able to capture the mood and the two characters anger and furstration with each through their facial expressions. The camera then goes to a close up of Allie (The main female character) and then the main male female character walks into this shot, giving the feel that he is saving her, getting her back. He then embraces her and lifts her up and we got to a profile close up so the audience can capture the moment.

Throughout this whole scene it is pooring with rain and it is quite dark as well. The tone of the lighting i feel sets the mood and the rain makes it more passionate,  amorousness and infactuated.

I feel that we could use and take a lot of techniques from this scene, its a very moving and effective kiss.
